Recognition of Credits from Other Departments: Up to 8 credits may be accepted (excluding extra general education courses).
- “Information Competency Test” Graduation Requirement:
Before graduation, students must pass the College Programming Examination (CPE) with a solution count of “two questions in one attempt” or complete the remedial course “Advanced Programming and Implementation.”
Conditions for enrolling in the “Advanced Programming and Implementation” course:- Students who have solved one question in the CPE before graduation but have not reached “two questions in one attempt” may take the “Advanced Programming and Implementation” course.
- Students who have not taken the CPE or have not solved at least one question in the CPE are not eligible to enroll in the “Advanced Programming and Implementation” course. To take this course, students must provide proof of having solved at least one question.
- The department requires that all core required courses for the major must be taken within the department. Exceptions may be made for students who, due to unavoidable circumstances, submit an application in advance and receive approval.
- The recognition and credit transfer of required and elective courses affected by curriculum revisions shall be handled in accordance with the “National Chung Hsing University Course Selection Regulations” and the “National Chung Hsing University Credit Transfer Regulations.”
- To enroll in the “Information Systems Development Project (III)” course, students must first complete “Information Systems Development Project (I)” and “Information Systems Development Project (II)” and obtain approval from their original advisor.
Students who pass the “Information Systems Development Project (III)” course may choose to waive either “Information Systems Development Project (I)” or “Information Systems Development Project (II).” - In accordance with the “National Chung Hsing University Credit Transfer Regulations” and the “National Chung Hsing University Regulations on Academic and Enrollment Management During Overseas Studies,” courses and credits taken abroad by students of this department are subject to departmental approval, with a maximum of 15 credits eligible for transfer.
- Any matters not listed or unspecified above shall be handled in accordance with the resolutions of the department’s curriculum committee meeting.

If a student intends to study for a minor degree, he/she will need to take 20 (or more) credits in addition to the department’s minimum credits required for graduation. Processed in accordance with the “Implementation Guidelines for Double Major Program in the Department of Management Information Systems, National Chung Hsing University”. The graduation requirements for students in pursuit of a double major (department or degree program) shall be based on the relevant regulations applicable at the time (year) when the application was approved. Double major students not only have to fulfill all graduation credit requirements of their original major (department or degree program), they must also complete all core courses for the second major (department or degree program) in order to be granted a double major degree.
Undergraduate students who did not complete or are short of 40 credits for the second major must make up for those credits by taking courses designated by the second-major department or degree program.
For students whose compulsory courses and credits are the same as the ones offered by the departments (degree programs), double major, minor, or other cross-disciplinary expertise programs providing cross-disciplinary expertise courses, they shall take other elective courses that are related to their expertise and designated by the departments (degree programs) or colleges providing cross-disciplinary expertise module courses.
Students who graduate from the study period of the senior high school less than 6 years will be required to take at least 12 extra credits in their graduation requirements.
